This was going to be so fucking hard because Laura’s tiny bikinis were going to tip me over the edge of my obsession. I wanted to peel them off her with my teeth and then taste her dripping-wet pussy.

That evening, after Rupert had cooked our evening meal, we sat at the table. Maja had been chatting animatedly throughout dinner while the three of us maintained an awkward silence, occasionally stealing glances at each other. I didn't know what Rupert had said to Veronica, but he’d nearly thrown Laura’s phone into the pool. The details of what was going on between them remained a mystery.

The idea of cutting the holiday short crossed my mind. I wasn’t sure if I could deal with blue balls all the fucking time. Laura kept peeking at me, pretending to eat but barely touching her food. Eventually, she excused herself to take Maja upstairs.

I was tired, too. I had promised my daughter a tour of the coastal area and towns beyond the city of Palermo. Another day, we’d be heading to Mount Etna, too.

I was exhausted and ready to head to bed, but I wanted to know why my brother was acting so strangely when it came to Veronica. The opportunity finally arrived when, in the evening, he brought beers and we sat outside on the terrace. We chatted about mundane things until I point-blank asked him what was going on between him and Laura’s roommate since they’d finally been reunited with each other.

Rupert had been talking about a certain red-haired woman from the moment he’d returned from Greece two years ago. He had tried to search for her in London, with no luck.

He took a swig of his beer, looking defeated. “Nothing at the moment. We talked, but I can’t get over the fact that she lied to me.”

“How did she lie to you?” I probed, recalling the night I’d mistaken Laura for an escort.

Massaging the back of his neck, he hesitated before saying, “When we met at that bar in Greece, she told me she worked as an air hostess. We got a bit wasted before going back to my hotel. The sex was incredible, mind-blowing.”

It didn't surprise me that Veronica had lied to him. She was an exclusive escort, and honesty wasn’t her forte. “And you found out what she did for a living when you saw her with Laura in the club after that video went viral?”

“Some guy showed me the video, and I planned to call her. I had already invested the money in Emperor before I knew she worked for Matthews. When he mentioned her exclusive clients, I felt betrayed. I told her to take the video down, and we argued,” Rupert explained, his disappointment clear. “I know I told you not to mess with the nanny, but I think you should go for it now.”

“What? Earlier you said it was a bad idea.”

“This tension between you two is getting to me, man. Just fuck her and get it over with.
